Welcome To Gateway to Global!

Welcome to Gateway to Global!

You have stumbled across this site because:

  1. You are a relative and feel obligated to read what's happening while I am traveling abroad just to make sure I am not hurt, or lost, or both.
  2. You are student or fellow colleague of mine.
  3. You are part of the growing globalization movement and are desperate for anything that is remotely helpful to you as an educator.
No matter why you are here- Welcome!  I hope that you find my blog and resource collection helpful in some way.

A little bit about myself.  I started teaching in 2003 in Beaverton, Oregon at Southridge High School (home of the Skyhawks!).  In 2012, I moved to northern Virginia and am now teaching at South Lakes High School (home of the Seahaws! I have a thing for birds).  Currently, I am teaching IB 20th Century Topics and US History.  I have taught a gamut of classes, including Street Law, Sports Psychology, Post World War History, and Remedial Reading/ Writing.  I thoroughly enjoy teaching and love how this field offers continual opportunities for growth and experimentation.

This blog was started because I won a fellowship with Teachers for Global Classrooms (via the State Department).  During this blog's life, I will travel to Ghana, collect resources that are helpful, and talk about the trials and tribulations making IT count ("it" being all things educational).

I encourage you leave comments, suggestions, or addition to any of my blog posts (even if it is just to say hi). Thanks for reading.

Rebecca Eisenberg
